Passports applications can take between 4-8 weeks to process.
We recommend applying at least 4-6 months before the trip to allow time for processing and any potential delays.

What makes Costa Rica special as a travel destination?
Costa Rica is world-famous for its stunning biodiversity and is often referred to as a nature lover’s paradise. The country is home to rainforests, volcanoes, beaches, and an incredible variety of wildlife, making it a top destination for eco-tourism. It's also a leader in sustainability, with efforts to conserve its natural resources and support community-driven development projects. In addition to its natural beauty, Costa Rica has made significant investments in education and healthcare, ensuring a high standard of living for its citizens. These factors make it not just a beautiful destination, but a model for responsible and sustainable travel.
What language is spoken in Costa Rica?
The official language is Spanish, but many people in tourist areas speak English. We also provide language translation support and encourage students who are familiar to practice their Spanish to embrace the cultural immersion.
Is Costa Rica safe for travelers?
Yes, Costa Rica is one of the safest countries in Central America. The country is known for its political stability, having no standing army since 1949, and is considered a peaceful nation free from political strife. We take additional precautions to ensure the safety of our participants with 24/7 supervision, secure, vetted accommodations, and partnerships with trusted local guides who are familiar with the areas we visit. Our accommodations typically provide security personnel, ensuring that participants are safe throughout their stay.
How is the weather in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica has a tropical climate with a rainy season from May to November and a dry season from December to April. Rain in the rainforest is one of the best parts of the experience, often short and predictable. When rainfall does occur, it is usually overnight or in the form of a passing shower in the late afternoon. Expect warm, humid weather year-round, with brief afternoon showers mixed into the sunny days during the rainy season that adds to the lush beauty of the landscape.
Are there any specific health considerations for Costa Rica?
Costa Rica is known for its high-quality healthcare system, providing excellent medical services with universal coverage, making it one of the best in Latin America for residents and visitors. Costa Rica is generally safe, but we recommend vaccinations for routine travel and bringing any necessary personal medications. Participants are required to have travel insurance for the trip, and our team is prepared for any medical needs.
