  • Our leadership team applies their expertise as designers and educators to honor the necessity of having a youth advisory board as key thought partners in the development process. It ensures that the next generation has a voice in key decisions regarding program design across creative expression, skill development, job creation, and therapeutic support. Additionally, our partnerships with local schools, cultural organizations, and government institutions further advance our efforts through holding seats on our community council. These boards co-design tools like our feedback survey, ensuring that we remain aligned with the values, heart, and soul of Puerto Viejo on an ongoing basis.

For the building's construction, we are collaborating with local architects, designers, artists, and residents to shape the space, integrating traditional materials and craftsmanship with sustainable methods and cutting-edge technology. Our signature design aims to attract a significant portion of the 2.5 million annual tourists visiting Costa Rica, as well as the 400,000 residents of the Limón province.

  • Belonging: Our inclusive community events and diverse programming options ensure that every guest feels seen and celebrated in ways that foster camaraderie among creatives from around the world.

Sustainability: Reduce environmental footprint. Committed to minimizing our environmental impact, we implement eco-friendly practices such as solar energy, water conservation initiatives, and sustainable building materials, creating a greener future for people and our planet.

  • Infinityland innovates upon existing models of art therapy by prioritizing artistic expression—through visual arts, music, and performance—over traditional methods like costly medications or talk therapy. This approach makes mental health care more accessible and adaptable to diverse needs. Inspired by organizations like Johns Hopkins' Arts + Mind Lab and the University of Florida’s Center for Arts in Medicine, we build on their research to create a transformative space that merges arts centers, makerspaces, and wellness retreats into a comprehensive facility that redefines holistic care.

What differentiates Infinityland is its neuroscience-informed architectural design. By incorporating elements like soft lighting, natural soundscapes, and fluid spatial layouts, we create an environment specifically designed to reduce stress, stimulate creativity, and foster well-being. This integration of architecture and art therapy will help disrupt the dependency on prescription drugs and provide a scalable prototype that can reshape local economies and global mental health care.

Infinityland also draws from unique experiences like Theaster Gates' Black Artist Retreat by fostering cultural pride and empowerment through remote experiences that cultivate a safe and inspiring place to create, uninterrupted. The US National Parks Arts Foundation also inspires our work through their highlighted relationship between the natural environment and artistic inspiration. Infinityland’s placement within Costa Rica’s vibrant landscapes expands this concept, making the environment an integral part of creative inspiration and the healing process.

Our approach ensures that we don't just cater to professional artists but extend mental health and creative benefits to entire communities. This reimagined model is needed to address the growing global demand for offline connection, along with culturally relevant, accessible, and holistic mental health solutions.

  • For development, we will align Infinityland with the Costa Rican Tourism Board’s (ICT) sustainable tourism initiatives and Costa Rican Coalition of Development Initiatives’ (CINDE) long-term investment strategies. For programming, we’ll collaborate with ICT’s Wellness Pura Vida strategy and Ministries of Youth & Culture, Health, Education, and Environment to create holistic programs that emphasize creativity, education, and wellness. Interntaionally, we aim to partner with Johns Hopkins' International Arts + Mind Lab and the University of Florida’s Center for Arts in Medicine to integrate evidence-based wellness practices into our programs as well. We foresee leveraging platforms of partners like Google, SXSW, Art Basel and Blackweek for events and marketing to expand reach to a global audience. We’ll also lead study abroad programs with schools, universities and organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs, to foster cross-cultural exchange and youth development. Mission-aligned partnerships are our DNA to advance our movement.
